Hanna grew up on a dairy farm in the Dutch countryside outside Deventer, the youngest of four sisters. She moved to Amsterdam to study early childhood education and still works part-time at a Montessori school between shoots. She bakes sourdough every Sunday without fail and has named her starter "Hendrick." She cries at every nature documentary and considers this a strength, not a weakness.
